Step one:
Clean your spa’s shell with EcoOne Shell Cleaner. Even brand-new spas can have residue left over from the factory.
Step two:
Fill your spa with the cleanest water possible using the EcoOne Hose Filter.
Step three:
Heat water to your preferred operating temperature and sterilize with EcoOne One Shock according to package directions.
Step four:
Test pH and Total Alkalinity using your preferred method, then adjust as needed using EcoOne pH Plus, pH Minus, Calcium Hardness Increaser or Alkalinity Plus.
Step five:
Add one bottle of EcoOne Spa Monthly to spa water and allow to circulate for ten minutes. Re-test pH and Total Alkalinity again and adjust if needed. Relax.

What do I do if my water is cloudy?
Cloudy water is often caused by a dirty filter. We recommend you start by cleaning your filter cartridge using Filter Cleaner and Filter Boost. If you still have cloudy water after cleaning your filter try the following:
- Add one bottle of Spa Monthly to your spa every month.
- Shock your spa with One Shock and allow 24 hours for the product to work.
- Check your spa’s pH and Total Alkalinity levels and adjust as needed with pH Plus, pH Minus, or Alkalinity Plus. Your pH level should be between 7.4–7.8 and your Total Alkalinity should be between 80–120 mg/l ppm.
- Clean the shell of your spa with Shell Cleaner and rinse the cover.
- Increase your filtration cycle and sanitizer levels.
What do I do if my water is foamy?
Foamy water is often caused by the introduction of soaps or detergents into the system. We recommend the following:
- Do not use any household cleaners, soaps, or detergents to clean your spa.
- Always rinse yourself off before entering your spa.
- Discontinue the use of other filter cleaning products. We recommend our Filter Cleaner which is non-foaming.
- Follow the recommendations above for clearing up cloudy water.
What do I do if my water is green?
Green Water is typically caused by the presence of algae or certain minerals such as iron, copper and manganese. We recommend the following:
- Clean your spa’s pipes with Pipe Cleaner.
- Drain your spa, clean the shell with Shell Cleaner, and refill it using our Hose Filter which will remove minerals such as copper.
- Clean your filter cartridge with Filter Cleaner and Filter Boost.Shock your spa with One Shock and allow 24 hours for the product to work.
Lastly, try our 3 or 6-month Maintenance Kit or Deep Clean Kit.
What do I do if my water is black, brown, or orange?
Black, brown, or orange water is usually caused by dissolved iron in your water. We recommend the following:
- Drain your spa and refill it using our Hose Filter which removes organic and metal contaminants from your water.
- Follow the recommendations above for clearing up green water.
What do I do if my skin itches or a rash appears after using my spa?
Most EcoOne® users find that our products solve their itching and skin irritations when used as directed. We recommend the following:
- Add one bottle of Spa Monthly to your spa every month.
- Shock your spa with One Shock and allow 24 hours for the product to work. Note: DO NOT under sanitize your spa as it can make the problem worse.
- Clean your filter cartridge with Filter Cleaner and Filter Boost.
- Check your spa’s pH and Total Alkalinity levels and adjust as needed with pH Plus, pH Minus, or Alkalinity Plus. Your pH level should be between 7.4–7.8 and your Total Alkalinity should be between 80–120 mg/l ppm.
- Fill your spa using our Hose Filter which removes organic and metal contaminants from your water.
Lastly, if you continue to experience discomfort you may have a skin issue that requires medical attention and you should make an appointment to see your doctor.

Drain your spa and bring your filter back to life with EcoOne Filter Cleaner.
Step three:
Once your spa is drained, remove stains and grime from the shell with EcoOne Shell Cleaner.
Step four:
Refill your spa using the EcoOne Hose Filter to reduce contaminants.
